Seeking Collaborative Potentials at Hue and Danang, Vietnam
On March 13 to 16, 2018 in Vietnam, courtesy visit to Hue and Danang by KMU representatives was considered fruitful, Professor Hung-Yi Chuang Dean for Office of Global Affairs, Professor Yen-Hsu Chen, Secretary of Superintendent and Professor Chu-Sung Hu, Director for Division of Academic Collaboration and Ms. Aerin Huang, Administrative Coordinator at Office of Global Affairs, paid courtesy visit to Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and University of Danang. KMU hosted a variety of commemorative activities for Dr. Carlos Urbani.
The 15th. Anniversaries of Commemoration for Dr. Carlos Urbani’s sacrifice, President Ching-Kuan Liu suggested KMU delegation to visit Vietnam to explore possibilities of collaborations with Carlos Urbani Center, founded by Italian government and Italian Cooperative Office at Vietnam and Italian Consortium with the facilitation of Sassari University. Dean Professor Chuang explained the types of collaborative project running at KMU with overseas partner universities as well as Dual Ph.D. Program with five prestigious universities. Knowing the varies cooperation KMU had with her partners, Vice Rector of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, HUMP suggested that under the frame of Memorandum of Understanding, both universities could explore and develop into a variety of collaborative projects. Head of Laboratories of Carlos Urbani Center and other representatives also showed great interests in learning KMU’s English program opened for international students. Henceforth, on reviewing KMU’s standard MoU template, before KMU delegation embarked the flight, HUMP’s representative presented the hard copies with their Rector’s signatures.
On March 14, KMU delegation paid returned visit to University of Danang, UD. On meeting with the Vice Present of UD, Professor Ngo Van Duong, the Vice Dean of School of Medicine and Pharmacy, Prof Phan The Phuoc Long even proposed to have sandwich program with KMU after two universities’ Memorandum of Understandings were mutually sent and incorporated together by both side. The short stay in Vietnam was deemed overall as a productive. KMU would have to think for the future development combined with the southbound policy and foresee the potentials and possibilities in those uprising countries.
