Taiwan Yale Ensemble performs at Kaohsiung Medical University with 7 renowned Musicians

On the evening of April 26, 2023, Kaohsiung Medical University invited the "Taiwan Yale Ensemble " (TYE) to perform at the university. The "Taiwan Yale Ensemble and KMU Music Exchange Concert" event aimed to provide students with a musical feast to relieve exam stress and celebrate the upcoming Mother's Day in May. The repertoire specifically included Czech composer Dvořák's "Songs My Mother Taught Me," dedicated to the mothers present in the audience, serving as a heartfelt reminder to students who had just finished their exams not to forget to express their gratitude to their mothers on Mother's Day. The concert featured seven renowned musicians, with the event hosted by Yale University alumna and Professor of the Department of Public Health at Kaohsiung Medical University, Dr. Betty Ya-Wen Chiu. The international-level performances, combined with clear and concise explanations, lively interactions, and active participation, allowed the faculty and students of Kaohsiung Medical University to immerse themselves in the world of classical music easily. The concert's highlight was a chamber music version of the Kaohsiung Medical University school anthem, rearranged and performed by TYE. The university leaders led the singing on stage; while the audience joined in from their seats, creating a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere that united everyone in harmony.
