Organized by Ming Chuan University and Taiwan Education Center in Mongolia, the 8th Taiwan Higher Education Fair 2016 was held from Sept. 3 to Sept. 4 at Chinggis Khaan Hotel in Ulaanbaartar. Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) joined the Fair by 1 senior staff, Ms. Yen-Yin Lin from the Office of Global Affairs, and 2 Mongolian students, Bulganchimeg Khaltar and A. Otgontuya.
Before the Education Fair, the representatives of 9 universities visited 3 senior high schools, 93rd senior high school, 23rd senior high school, and New Beginning laboratory senior high school, to introduce their universities to those students face to face. Amazingly, those students were not only polite but also good at either English or Chinese. They were interested in studying overseas. However, most of them need scholarship to fulfill their study dream.
In addition, KMU received a live TV interview by UBS TV. Our student A. Otgontuya introduced KMU‘s friendly people, generous scholarship, and highly advanced facilities in Mongolian on behalf of KMU. That was a successful interview, which made KMU known by more Mongolian people.
During the Education Fair, there were almost 280 visits to KMU’s booth and 110 students showing their interests in studying at KMU. Compared to last year, more students knew KMU and were interested in studying healthcare related subjects.
Following the country’s development, the healthcare system becomes important to Mongolian people. More and more students go abroad to learn advanced medical sciences. That’s why only 9 universities from Taiwan attends this Fair, but 3 of them are medical schools—National Yang Ming Medical University, Taipei Medical University and KMU. We hope that there can be more Mongolian students pursuing their degrees at KMU in the future.
