On April 9, 2018, Executive Vice President from University of the Philippines (UP), Prof. Teodoro J Herbosa, led the crew of three people to Kaohsiung Medical University for the purpose of exploring other forms of collaborations.  The representatives from UP areDirector Prof. Gil S. Jacinto, Office of International Linkages and Dr. Allan Concejero, Clinical Associate Professor, Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.  The issues in discussion covered a wide variety of topics such as the prevention of dengue fever, infectious disease, medical education, liver transplantation, research project for collaboration under new southbound policy, industrial and academic cooperation, etc. In order to lead to substantial cooperation on certain topics, relevant heads responsible for specific topics were invited to join the meeting in hope of matching mutual research interests as well as potential collaborations.  On the meeting of April 9th, both parties would soon confirm certain collaborative items to put into practice in the near future.
