Erasmus MC is the largest and one of the most prestigious university medical centers in Europe. The partnership between the two institutions originated from Dr. T. L. Raoul Tan’s visit to KMU last year. With support from the National Science and Technology Council’s Science and Technology Division in the EU, KMU President Yu visited Erasmus MC in May this year to further consolidate the directions of cooperation. Moreover, faculty members from both institutions have co-published multiple research outputs, establishing a strong basis for sustained academic interaction.
The visit program included exchanges with KMU’s Divisions of Infectious Diseases and Gastroenterology & Hepatology, as well as consultations with several teaching and research units regarding potential collaborative initiatives. The academic exchange and cooperation agreement was officially signed in an afternoon ceremony. Under this agreement, both institutions will pursue collaboration in areas such as clinical clerkship exchanges for medical students, faculty mobility, joint research projects, and innovations in medical technology.
Through this partnership, KMU strengthens its ties with a leading European medical center and continues to advance the university’s global engagement, international education, and research excellence.
