2021.10.28 Mask Rules Were Relaxed for LEVEL 2 Alert
General principles:
- When stepping out of their homes, people should still wear a mask
- Businesses and public facilities must comply with the real-name registration system, take body temperatures, regularly clean and disinfect the premises, monitor employee health, and respond immediately to confirmed cases
- Indoor and outdoor crowd limits and crowd control measures in businesses and public areas, including art galleries, sports venues, national parks, scenic areas, tourist spots, and amusement parks, are discontinued
Mask rule exceptions:
- Indoor/outdoor exercise, singing, hot springs, and water activities
- Individual/group photos both indoors and outdoors
- Agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and animal husbandry
- Activities in mountains, forests, and coastal areas
- Places where masks are likely to get wet, such as hot springs, saunas, spas, steam rooms, and water parks
Crowd limits and control measures discontinued:
- Limit on indoor gatherings
- Crowd control measures in businesses and public places
- Limit on outdoor gatherings at art exhibitions, cultural performances, sports events, national parks, national scenic areas, tourist spots, and amusement parks
Conditional opening of leisure and entertainment venues:
Karaoke parlors, dance halls, nightclubs, hostess bars, bars, and barbershops that include accompaniment by hostesses must remain closed from Nov. 2-15.

- In areas where community transmission has taken place, residents are restricted to a set perimeter and must submit to COVID-19 testing
2021.05.14 Taiwan Social Distancing app available for download.
When an app user is confirmed to have COVID-19, the health authority will upload related data after obtaining consent from the confirmed case, and the app will automatically send alerts to app users who have come into contact with the confirmed case in the past 14 days to remind them to monitor their health status.

2021.05.11 Taiwan CECC announced that epidemic warning has raised to Level 2 from today Tuesday, 11 May to Monday, 8 June.
Level 1
- Masks required on public transportation and in public areas
- Recommendation that non-essential gatherings be postponed or cancelled
- Businesses and public venues required to implement real-name registration, social distancing, temperature checks, and regular disinfection
Level 2
- Fines for failing to abide by mask rules
- Outdoor gatherings over 500 and indoor gatherings over 100 banned.
- Public gatherings must include social distancing, masks, partitions, real-name registration, temperature checks, crowd control, and regular disinfection or be cancelled
Level 3
- Wearing of masks at all times outdoors
- Indoor gatherings limited to five people
- All places of business and public venues are shuttered, with the exception of essential services, police departments, hospitals, and government buildings
- Masks and social distancing required at all businesses or venues that remain open
- In areas where community transmission has taken place, residents are restricted to a set perimeter and must submit to COVID-19 testing
Level 4
- People can only leave home for essential activities and must wear a mask and maintain a social distance at all times
- Even when at home, masking and social distancing must be practised
- All public events cancelled, with the exception of essential services such as law enforcement, medical and government services
- All in-person school and work activities suspended
- Lockdowns will be imposed in counties, cities, or townships where an outbreak has become severe. Only designated persons may enter or leave these lockdown zones, and residents must stay in their homes

2020.11.18 Fall-winter COVID-19 prevention program to be launched on December 1; CECC urges the public and healthcare facilities to follow related measures.
1. Border quarantine: all travelers coming to Taiwan and transit passengers are required to provide a certificate of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within three days prior to boarding the flight to Taiwan.
2. Community prevention: people must wear masks in eight types of public venues, and violators who refuse to comply after being advised could be penalized according to laws.
3. Medical response: Medical response: strengthen case reporting and specimen collection procedures, and formulate incentive indicators.

2020.11.04 The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that starting from November 9, it would enhance entry quarantine measures for travelers coming to Taiwan who has experienced symptoms in the past 14 days.
