First、 Key Points and Objectives of the Activity : The world is experiencing a trend of population aging. According to United Nations data, the global population aged 65 and above is projected to reach 1.6 billion by 2050, accounting for approximately 16% of the total population. As the elderly population increases, the demand for health management and elderly care is also rising significantly. It is essential to place greater emphasis on gerontology-related issues, as corresponding policies and social structures are closely tied to economic impacts.
This activity not only introduces gerontology courses but also provides diverse career opportunities. Studying gerontology benefits personal development while also contributing to society. By participating in this activity , students can gain insights into future career planning, allowing them to set goals and take action early. Second、Features of the Activity and Implementation Details: Gerontology integrates knowledge from medicine, sociology, and psychology, making it highly compatible with the academic programs offered at our institution. This interdisciplinary approach helps cultivate students' comprehensive expertise in various fields.
The activity will be hosted by Steven Stumph, Graduated from USC. He will share personal experiences and provide practical advice. As global demographic structures shift, the career prospects in gerontology are reaching unprecedented potential, offering limitless possibilities. Students are encouraged to explore the opportunities and challenges presented by an aging society. Third、Activity Schedule:
