Sustainable Development promotes and Upgrade - Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) and Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) signed the “Sustainable Development Advocate Agreement”

As climate change aggravates, sustainable development issues have aroused global attention. The United Nations released 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, hoping to improve human life through specific targets and actions. Colleges and universities are important institutes for cultivating talents and serve as the essential bases for putting SDGs into practice. Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) and Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) signed the “Sustainable Development Advocate Agreement” on Oct. 28th, 2022, and shall make efforts to promote and fulfill SDGs together. Meanwhile, we also invited Eugene Chien, Ph.D., the Chairman and President of TAISE to give a speech. Doctor Chien’s address focused on “The Challenges and Opportunities to promote Sustainable Development in Universities” for KMU faculty, staff, and students to learn about the impacts of environmental and energy crises and to understand more about the problems we are facing and the responsibilities of the university and medical institutions. Dr. Chien encourages students’ learning and awareness of related affairs and moves to advocate and fulfill the SDGs in daily life.
